The advert that caught her eye was actually a poster which we viewed from the top deck of a London bus on our way to Kew Gardens. Granny was always a very active hostess when I went to stay with her as an eight to ten year old child.
Kew! I remember that too. She took me there when I was 6, and we had maids of honour in a cafe nearby. My son decided to take me there only the weekend before last, in memory of Isabella's connection with it. She must have loved it very much. When I was in Edinburgh, I went to the Botanic Gardens, thinking she might have haunted them too. There was an ancient beech hedge I'm sure she must have seen.
